Ill Health Benefits

Members of the Contributory Scheme, RBF-TAS SG Account, TASSS & SFCSS are automatically covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by death and ill health cover unless they have elected otherwise. The illness does not have to be work-related for a member to make a claim.

An ill health application form is available from RBF. Members who are considering making an application for an ill health benefit are encouraged to contact RBF to discuss their possible entitlements. RBF's trained staff are available to explain the options available to you and to ensure you understand the application.

Important note:
If you are considering making an application for ill health it is important that you do not resign or retire from your employment with the public sector until the assessment process has been completed. Your ill health cover will cease if you resign or retire and your application would become void.
